Freeway Bound - bound for music stores

- August 25, 2005 - With a street date of September 13, 2005, Mirrome Records is set to release "Freeway Bound", the debut album by country singer/songwriter Miko Marks, who may well become the first African American woman to conquer the country music scene. Marks, however, has little interest in the color debate, saying, "I simply want to be known as a county music artist."

The first single from the album, also titled "Freeway Bound" is garnering fans through small-medium market radio play with its catchy lyric and bouncy melody.

Mirrome Records has secured national radio promotion, along with distribution by Brown Bear Music Marketing of Nashville, Tennessee for the project.

Miko Marks, who signed with the independent label in the presence of fans at CMA MusicFest 2005 (former known as Fan Fair) in Nashville, TN, wrote 7 of the 10 songs on the album and is currently playing venues to promote her project.

The album was recorded in Nashville with legendary producer, Ron Cornelius, and includes the title cut along with rockin' hits like "Don't Come Cryin' To Me", "Excited", and the touching "Mama", a song the artist wrote in memory of her mother.
