Spinning in 11 countries … in one month!

- October 24, 2005 - Nashville, TN - Mirrome Records recording artist Miko Marks has taken a virtual tour of the globe. "Freeway Bound" is both the album name and the first release from the Oakland, CA singer/songwriter. The single is enjoying airplay in 11 countries, with new stations being added daily.

"This girl can sing!"
Terry Wendt, President, WMI Records

Marks has been touring the US to promote the project. Performances have taken the young star from California to Washington DC and all points in between. Marks has received attention, not only for her music, but for the fact that she happens to be an African American woman tackling Country Music. Her work, however, crosses any perceived ethnic lines with intimate lyrics and crisp, powerful vocals that are pure country. Marks wrote 7 of the 10 album cuts.

"I received your single and it is just too cool… am adding it to my rotation… Viva Diversity!"
Jim Patrick, Program/Music Director, KIKT-FM, Greenville, TX

Mirrome Records has secured national promotion for the project. The album is available through a number of online venues and retail distribution is being managed by Brown Bear Music Marketing of Nashville, TN. Promotion through Comstock and GrassRoots Promotion are also part of the plan.

"She has what it takes. What a great song."
Bill Hennes, All About Country

Miko grew up in Flint, Michigan and was educated at Grambling State University in Louisiana. She now resides in California. Her songs are honest and personal with stirring melodies. With a voice that is at once tender and the next minute gutsy and in-your-face, Marks offers up her music as a testament to emotions and experiences we all share.
