Miko Marks moving up the charts

- January 05, 2006 - Nashville, TN - Mirrome Records recording artist, Miko Marks, is starting the new year off right! She recently moved from #8 to the #6 slot on the Indie World Country Radio Report and made it to #10 on the Inside Country rankings.

You can also look for Miko in the February 2006 issue of Ebony Magazine where her album appears in the "Also Noted" section. The issue hits stands in mid-January. The time is truly right for women of color in country music.

The debut album by Marks, "Freeway Bound", has been well-received by a worldwide audience since its release in 2005. Miko penned 7 of the 10 album cuts. The first single, also titled Freeway Bound quickly gained airplay in 16 countries and on more than 100 U.S. radio stations.

Miko grew up in Flint, Michigan and was educated at Grambling State University in Louisiana. She now resides in California. Her songs are honest and personal with stirring melodies. With a voice that is at once tender and the next minute gutsy and in-your-face, Marks offers up her music as a testament to emotions and experiences we all share. Her live shows offer a high energy experience that brings audiences to their feet.
