Mirrome Artist Saddles Up for Rodeo

- September 02, 2005 - Mirrome Recording artist Miko Marks is set to perform at The Showplace Arena and Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD as part of the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo, America's only touring black rodeo.

Marks has been featured in several articles not only for her music, but for the fact that she is an African American woman tackling Country Music. Her performances will be at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2005.

"Freeway Bound" is both the album name and the first single from the singer/songwriter. The single is climbing Confederate Radio charts. The album will be in stores soon and will be available at the rodeo.

Miko, ( grew up in Flint, Michigan and was educated at Grambling State University in Louisiana before moving to California. Her songs are honest and personal with intimate lyrics supported by stirring melodies. With a voice clear and powerful, at once tender and the next minute gutsy and in-your-face, Marks offers up her music as a testament to emotions and experiences we all share.

2005 marks the 21st year of the Bill Pickett Invitation Rodeo, named for legendary black rodeo star William "Bill" Pickett. Six states and Washington DC are part of the schedule.
